On Friday the 19th the ICA had its winter exhibition opening featuring Carlos Garacioa, Nicole Cherubini, Luca Buvoli's Ramp Project. When you first walk into the main room of the ICA you are confronted with a gigantic "trees" which have little houses built on top complete with adjoining walk ways made out of woven fabric and what looked to be wooden or cardboard planks. You almost expect a small gnome to open the door and run across the bridge. There were several small rooms in the bottom of the trees that you could walk into, it was pretty cool. also they made a sort of igloo out of cardboard boxes that played video clips inside. we weren't able to go inside that one because it was way too crowded. To get upstairs we walked through Buvoli's ramp. I wasn't too thrilled with it. Upstairs were these amazing light sculptures by Carlos Garacioa. they were in the form of those Japanese (i think they are asian) paper lights but he made them into really interesting designs, one was even created into a small bridge complete with two towers. The ICA was a great show space, unfortunately it was packed making it a little less enjoyable. None the less, i would recommend checking it out, especially for the Tree house, everything down there is very hands on.

I found this feedback very insightful. I do plan on visiting this as soon as possible. The light sculptures really sound interesting.
